To become a CPO, a Mitsubishi must be five years old or less and have 60,000 miles or fewer on its odometer. It must then complete and pass a 123-point inspection by Mitsubishi-trained technicians. This inspection begins with an examination of the vehicle’s exterior to check its detailing, then moves to the interior and its underside.

Once this phase is complete, its mechanical, electrical, and safety systems are extensively checked and tested. Finally, one of the technicians will take it on a drive to test its performance under real-world conditions. If any minor issues or servicing requirements are noted, they will be performed by Mitsubishi-trained technicians using only Mitsubishi-approved replacement parts. If the vehicle passes with flying colors, it qualifies as CPO.

Warranty Protection

The main warranty is the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which applies for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers the majority of vehicle systems and components, except for those specifically excluded in the warranty booklet.

The Powertrain Limited Warranty protects your engine, transmission, and drive system, including components like the axles, drive shaft, and propeller shaft. If the vehicle is equipped with a transfer case and transaxle, these are also covered by this warranty. Protection applies for ten years or 100,000 miles from its original in-service date. Finally, an anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty protects all body metal for seven years or 100,000 miles.
